POSITION DESCRIPTION Title: Vice President, Account Management

Department: Account Management Location: Boston

Reports To: CEO

POSITION PURPOSE: The Vice President of Account Management will play a critical role in building executive level relationships and will have responsibility for both strategic and functional oversight of the US Account Management team. Our ideal candidate should understand the key principles of excellent client satisfaction; building partnerships and leading a team of highly successful Account Executives, Account Managers and Account Specialists. Understanding the drivers of client satisfaction and retention are critical skills for the role.


Relationship Management

• Develop and execute strategic initiatives with our most important clients to ensure long term and profitable relationships

• Identify additional opportunities to grow revenue for existing accounts

Demonstrated success of managing a Book of Business (renewals, revenue retention, key relationships)

• Understanding of the employer market landscape (including cost containment strategies, renewals, utilization, customer requirements)

• Coordination with sales to support aggressive sales/implementations and management

• Actively seeks innovative ways to improve processes, products, and client experience

• Ability to successfully negotiate and close a deal

• Demonstrates strategic thinking with an entrepreneurial spirit

• Successful strategic management of customers

• Demonstrates superior judgment and excels at utilizing information to build business case and enact positive change

• Demonstrates the capacity to manage changing priorities and ambiguity while remaining calm and controlled

• Maintains direction and focus through proactive planning and organized approaches to work

Education and Experience:
• 10-15+ years successful account management or related experience, preferably in a healthcare or consulting environment

• BA degree required, MBA preferred

• Experience with self-funded and complex risk sharing markets

• Successful track record in strategic leadership position

• Exceptional relationship building  and problem-solving skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent organizational skills as well as close attention to detail required

• Willingness to travel
